On the 29th of June, 2023 in the church of St. Peter the Apostle in Międzyzdroje, a concert was held in tribute to Professor Jan Szyrocki, crowning this year's edition of the International Festival ‘Musical Journey in the footsteps of the Grünebergs’.
During this musical meeting, the chairman of the jury, Fr. Dr. Mariusz Cywka - pastor of creative communities of the Szczecin-Kamień Diocese - honored Prof. Sylwia Burnicka-Kalischewska with the Grand Prix of the SAWP Association (based in Warsaw) for the best performance of works by Polish composers during this Festival, and gave the winner a symbolic SAWP check for EUR 1,000. The artist declared that the award would be donated in its entirety to the victims of a tragic accident in the intaglio printing studio at the Academy of Art in Szczecin on the 25th of June.
