1. Tyniec Chamber Recitals

The first edition of the Tynieckie Recitale Kameralne promises a blend of classical masterpieces, contemporary compositions, and musical improvisations performed by renowned artists in the unique setting of the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. Scheduled from July 14 to September 1, 2024, the concerts will take place on five summer Sundays at 4:00 PM, with free admission to all festival events.

The program for the first edition includes five concerts featuring artists such as Julius Berger, Dominik Wania, Adrian Nowak, the DAFO Quartet, and the Erlendis Quartet. They will perform works by classical music masters like Bach, Mozart, Dvořák, and Bizet, as well as pieces by distinguished contemporary composers such as Penderecki, Hummel, and Katz. The festival will also feature improvisations, with Dominik Wania performing fully improvised pieces inspired by the music on his solo album "Lonely Shadows".

“This initiative is the realization of a dream – to create a space where classical and contemporary music find a common voice in the picturesque surroundings of one of the most beautiful corners of Małopolska. Here, music serves as a bridge connecting the past with the present, with each sound resonating within the historic walls of the Abbey. We hope this project will inaugurate a new, fascinating musical tradition," says Paweł Czarakcziew, one of the artistic directors of the Tynieckie Recitale Kameralne.

The Tynieckie Recitale Kameralne are initiated and primarily organized by the Kolektyw Muzyczny Association. Co-organizers include the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec, the Chronić Dobro Foundation, and the Centrum Kultury Podgórza. The festival is held under the honorary patronage of the National Center for Culture of Poland and the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Krakow. Partners include Yamaha and the Guest House of the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec.

This project is realized with the financial support of the Małopolskie Voivodeship.
