Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors is one of the most important Polish performance competitions, since 1982 belonging to the World Federation of International Music Competitions based in Geneva. It is intended for artists under the age of 39.
The submitted applications will be assessed by the Qualifying Committee consisting of distinguished conductors and musicians, who will qualify no more than 50 Competition Participants (hereinafter referred to as Participants) from the submitted applications and will select no more than 10 reserve Participants of the Competition.
Competition participants will conduct the Symphony Orchestra of the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic. Works of Polish composers are compulsory for the participants of the competition.
The finalists, participants of the 3rd stage of the Competition, will be awarded the following prizes and distinctions:
Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund - a state special-purpose fund, as part of the ‘Music’ programme, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
