For the eleventh time in Warsaw, the International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Festival will take place from November 4 to 10, 2024, dedicated to preserving the memory of his monumental contributions to Polish independence. This year's edition will be an opportunity to hear Paderewski's works interpreted by world-class artists just before National Independence Day. Admission is free!
The festival will feature British pianist Jonathan Plowright, who has long been regarded as one of the leading interpreters of Paderewski's music. The lineup will also include prominent figures from the Polish classical music scene: Rektors Duo (UMFC rectors Klaudiusz Baran and Tomasz Strahl), pianist Michał Szymanowski (who also serves as the artistic director of the festival), tenor Karol Kozłowski, pianist Mischa Kozłowski, Meccore String Quartet, and representatives from the Polish jazz scene, Karol Szymanowski and Maciej Afanasjew Quartets.
The festival will also provide a platform for young talents. Talented young musicians, winners of national and international competitions, will perform in the Chamber Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic. Additionally, in collaboration with the Muniania Foundation, a concert dedicated to younger audiences will take place at the PROM Culture venue, featuring clarinetist Piotr Thieu-Quang and pianist Paweł Popko.
Festival concerts will be held at the Staszic Palace, the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio, "Nowa Miodowa," the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Wilanów Palace Museum, the PROM Culture venue, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
The festival program will be enriched with accompanying events, including special exhibitions: "Paderewski Won Poland on the Piano" (on the fence of Ujazdowski Park) and "The Heart of Paderewski" (in selected concert halls).
The event is organized by the AveArte Foundation, established by Wiesław Dąbrowski, who is also the festival's founder and director.
The partner of the XI International Paderewski Festival is the Totalizator Sportowy Foundation.
The festival is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
