The organizers of the 13th International Cello Academy extend an invitation to an evening that will be filled with the sound of dozens of cellos. The "Rendez-vous" concert will be held at the National Forum of Music on July 10, 2026, at 7.00 pm.
The concert will feature a workshop orchestra comprised of both the faculty and the course participants. The performers will include musicians from the Polish Cello Quartet – the NFM resident ensemble and the organizer of the Academy – who will perform alongside the instructors, Reinhard Latzko and Matthias Bartolomey. A special guest of the event will be the HKCO String Quintet from Hong Kong, performing on traditional string instruments from their cultural heritage.
The audience will be presented to works by Tomasz Skweres and Ng Cheuk-yin, which resourcefully blend Eastern and Western heritage. Skweres's piece Cangjie (the titular Cangjie was the legendary inventor of Chinese writing) was commissioned by the National Forum of Music. The program will also feature compositions by Prosper van Eechaute, Luk Wai-chun, Jean Françaix, and Gian Carlo Menotti.
The Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC is the media patron of the National Forum of Music for the 2025/26 concert season.
