The 13th International Young Pianists Competition "Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam" will take place in Bydgoszcz from October 22 to 28, 2024. It is one of the most prestigious music competitions for young pianists in the world.
The global prestige and renown of the Competition is due, among other things, to the fact that its honorary chairperson is Ewa Rubinstein, the daughter of the great pianist. After the Competition, young laureates often launch their international artistic careers; among them are Rafał Blechacz, Yulianna Avdeeva, Szymon Nehring, and Mateusz Krzyżowski.
The 13th edition of the Competition will be a three-stage event, with the final featuring the most talented pianists performing with a symphony orchestra – the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, conducted by Marek Wroniszewski. The compulsory program will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Karol Szymanowski, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Domenico Scarlatti, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Fryderyk Chopin. The event will conclude with a grand gala concert at the I.J. Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic and the presentation of awards.
