The 14th edition of the “La folle journée de Varsovie” (Crazy Days of Music), under the theme “Sources”, will take place in Warsaw from September 27th to 29th, 2024. Over 800 artists will perform across 56 symphonic, chamber, and recital concerts, as well as events for children and youth, on six stages: at the Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera, in the Tent on Teatralny Square, and in the Church of St. Brother Albert and St. Andrew the Apostle.
"La Folle Journée is celebrating its 30th anniversary in France this year. It is one of the world's largest classical music festivals, standing alongside the UK's BBC Proms and Germany's Rheingau Festival. Held annually in several locations around the globe—France, Japan, and Poland—it is a unique event with an educational mission and a special festive atmosphere," the organizers emphasize.
The concerts in Warsaw will feature classical, traditional, jazz, film, and early music. Audiences will hear works considered foundational, which, through their innovation, set new directions in music. In line with the theme of the festival, the program will also guide the audience's imagination toward nature and folk influences in classical music and jazz.
Notably, the festival will include the Polish concert premieres of Tsuzamen by Sirba Octet (2023) and The Real John Bull by Maciej Skrzeczkowski (2024).
Admission to fifteen out of the fifty six festival concerts is free.
