The 21st Festival of "Śląskie Dni Muzyki Współczesnej" (Silesian Days of Contemporary Music) in Katowice will run until December 9, 2024. Admission to all events is free!
The festival will feature premieres of works by Polish composers, including Chwała Twa, wieczny Panie and Motus est pes by Kamil Polak, Paysage Symphonique by Aleksander Jan Szopa, Denali by Wojciech Chałupka, Zmienia to postać legendarnych rzeczy by Szymon Borys, Hammer Bells by Bartosz Witkowski, Quasi, Quasi ZWEI by Rafał Gorzycki, Kamyki by Artur Kroschl, as well as excerpts from the opera A Single Man by Wojciech Stępień, based on the novel by Christopher Isherwood.
Performers include: Vocal ensemble “Teneramente”, Daniel Strządała (organ), Elżbieta Grodzka-Łopuszyńska (soprano), Maciej Bartczak (baritone), Dagmara Niedziela, Stanisław Bromboszcz, Szczepan Kończal, and Łukasz Trepczyński (piano).
