The Tarasy Kultury Association and the "Muzyka do Potęgi" Foundation are pleased to invite participants for the second edition of the International Competition of Polish Music for Children and Youth "ESSA!". The competition is open to students of primary and secondary music schools, young people studying in cultural institutions, as well as private learners, developing their skills in all disciplines: instrumental, vocal, chamber music, and for choirs and orchestras. Applications must be submitted by November 25, 2025.
The competition will take place from December 3–5, 2025, at the Educational Development Center of the Łódź Voivodeship in Zgierz. The auditions will be open to the public.
The organizers aim to promote Polish music from all historical periods, including works by contemporary Polish composers.
The name of the competition comes from the 2022 Polish Youth Word of the Year, "Essa", a synonym for joy and freedom — the spirit with which young performers will present music imbued with Polish color and national heritage.
In all categories, performances may be given either from sheet music or from memory.
The organizers do not provide an accompanist (or any other instrumentalist) to perform the accompaniment part.
Each participant will receive a certificate of participation. Prize winners will receive winner diplomas and awards.
The number of participants is limited — applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of Ms. Joanna Skrzydlewska, Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship.
