For the 34th time, organ music will resound in Rzeszów and Podkarpacie: the Podkarpacie Organ Festival will start on July 13 and last until August 18, 2024. There will be 13 concerts performed by organ virtuosos from Poland, Germany, Hungary and Italy. There will be two chamber music concerts with the participation of soloists: tenor Jacek Szymański and violinist Róża Lorenc. Admission to the concerts is free!
The festival is one of the oldest cyclical artistic events in this part of Poland and is an opportunity to experience art in its many forms: music, architecture, painting, sculpture, stained glass, bell founding. This year's edition encompasses seven towns in the region: Rzeszów (cathedral, church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zalesie and Saint Roch), Jarosław (Abbey), Stara Wieś (Jesuit asilica), Lutcza (wooden church) and three sanctuary churches: in Ropczyce, Sędziszów Małopolskie and Chmielnik.
We will hear musical works from five centuries, including works by Nicholas of Cracow, Fryderyk Chopin and Mieczysław Surzyński.
The festival is organized by the Ars pro Arte Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Art, in cooperation with the Podkarpacie Voivodeship, the City of Rzeszów and the Watkem fuel company. Since its inception, the director of the festival has been Prof. Ph.D. Marek Stefański.
Co-financed from the budget of the Podkarpacie Voivodeship and the City of Rzeszów.
