The 36th International Fr. Stanisław Ormiński Festival of Religious Music will take place in Rumia from October 24-26, 2024. The event will feature the Organ Music Competition and the Choral Ensemble Competition for the Best Performance of a Religious Song in the Kashubian language, as well as concerts. Admission to all auditions and concerts is free!
The organists will be evaluated by a jury consisting of: Prof. Angelo Castaldo (Italy), Dr. Pavel Kohout (Czech Republic), Dr. Hanna Dys, Dr. Karol Hilla, Prof. Sławomir Kamiński, and Fr. Dr. Krzysztof Niegowski (Poland). Meanwhile, the Choral Competition jury will include: Dr. Tomasz Fopke, Prof. Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, Artur Koza, Dr. Bartosz Michałowski, Fr. Dr. Krzysztof Niegowski, and Prof. Marcin Tomczak.
On October 25, the 441Hz Chamber Choir, the Cantilena Youth Mixed Choir from the Feliks Nowowiejski 1st and 2nd degree Music School in Gdańsk, and the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rafał Kłoczko will premiere the winning piece from last year's Rumina800 Composition Competition – Pieśń pochwalna (Song of Praise) by Mikołaj Gąsiewski, set to the words of Kazimierz Nowosielski. Soloists will include Sylwia Ziółkowska, Zuzanna Nalewajek, Krzysztof Lachman, and Jasin Rammal-Rykała.
The festival will conclude on October 26 with a final concert featuring jury members, competition winners, and the Representative Orchestra of the Polish Army. The program will include works by Mieczysław Surzyński, Ludomir Różycki, Zygmunt Noskowski, and Stanisław Moniuszko.
