7th Wanda Wiłkomirska International Violin Competition of Polish Music in Częstochowa

The Marcin Józef Żebrowski Music School Complex in Częstochowa invites the public to concerts held as part of the 7th Wanda Wiłkomirska International Violin Competition of Polish Music, taking place 25–30 November 2025.

The main aims of the competition are to promote Polish music, honor the legacy of the distinguished Polish violinist Wanda Wiłkomirska, and support young soloists with compelling artistic personalities.

The public competition auditions will be conducted in a single round, divided into four age categories. They will take place 26–30 November at the Marcin Józef Żebrowski Music School Complex in Częstochowa. Each participant is required to perform at least one work by a Polish composer.

The Jury will consist of:
Kazimierz Skowronek – violinist, Jury Chair;
Adam Porębski – composer;
Richard Kružík – violinist;
Aleksandra Szwejkowska-Belica – violinist and Competition Director.

The Opening Concert, held on 25 November at the Jasna Góra Basilica, will feature laureates of previous editions of the competition together with the Symphony Orchestra of the Marcin Józef Żebrowski Music School Complex, conducted by Zygmunt Nitkiewicz.

The Winners’ Concert will take place on 30 November at the Music School Complex in Częstochowa.

The competition offers financial prizes, material awards, concerto performances with orchestra, and chamber music engagements. Additional prizes will be awarded to teachers and piano accompanists.

The auditions and the Winners’ Concert will be streamed live and recorded by the Academy of Film and Television. Recordings of all participants will be uploaded to YouTube by the Academy.

The competition will be accompanied by an exhibition of instruments and bows from the workshop of luthier Marcin Mazur, as well as a retrospective photography exhibition by Arkadiusz Belica titled “Wiłkomirska Competition 2018–2024.”

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture – a state special-purpose fund.
