The Cracow Branch of the Polish Composers' Union announces the 8th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers. The subject of the competition is a composition for clarinet, cello, and piano, with a duration of 9 to 12 minutes. The score and the application form must be submitted by March 16, 2025.
The competition jury will award one Main Prize of 1,000 USD (gross). Additionally, the composition that receives the Main Prize will be premiered in May 2025 during a concert as part of the 37th Cracow International Composer's Festival.
Composers of all nationalities who have not reached the age of 35 by the closing date of the competition are eligible to participate. Composers who have previously won the Main Prize in earlier editions of the competition are excluded from participation.
Each participant may submit up to two compositions. The submitted composition must not have been performed, published in any form, or awarded in any previous competition.
