On March 9, 2025, Sinfonietta Cracovia will say goodbye to the Cracow audience for nearly a month as it embarks on a concert tour titled "Promotion of Polish Culture Abroad," carried out as part of the cultural program of Poland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. However, this is not the only reason to attend the concert at the Cracow Philharmonic that evening – a fantastic program will be presented, featuring world-renowned soloist Alena Baeva.
The concert at the Cracow Philharmonic at 18:00 with Alena Baeva will not only showcase string classics, from Baroque to the 20th century, but will also mark the inauguration of a major concert tour in Germany, during which the Cracow orchestra will perform 19 concerts in various cities across the neighboring country. The program of this tour includes both works from the European musical canon and pieces by Polish composers, providing an excellent opportunity to promote Polish culture as well as Cracow.
In addition to Alena Baeva, Gábor Boldoczki will also participate in the tour. The Hungarian virtuoso has already earned the title of one of the world's greatest trumpeters. Today, the artist performs in the most famous concert halls, such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonie, collaborating with the best conductors and orchestras worldwide.
The German tour will begin, however, in Cracow on March 9. At the Philharmonic, among solo works, the program will include Bach's Concerto in D minor BWV 1052R and Mendelssohn's Concerto in D minor. The Orchestra will also perform Ignacy Jan Paderewski's Suite in G major for string orchestra.
The concert tour is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund. The tour is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Cracow.
The concert tour is co-organized by CCM Classic Concerts Management. The co-organizer of the Cracow concert is the Cracow Philharmonic as part of the "Music Bridges" project.
