The Szczecin Association of the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra announces a competition for a chamber ensemble residency as part of the 7th International Szczecin Classic Festival. In 2025, West Pomerania's largest classical music festival will be held from April 27 to May 4 under the theme "Seven Wonders." Deadline for applying is February 28.
The Competition is open to performers at the professional level - string trio, string quartet, string quintet, string sextet, string octet, piano trio, piano quartet, piano quintet. The average age of the chamber ensemble must not exceed 35.
A prerequisite for entry into the Competition is the submission of an application, including video materials containing a recording of two contrasting movements of a classical chamber piece. The mandatory piece to be performed by the ensemble at the in-house concert will be any work by a Polish composer.
As part of the residency, the organizer provides:
- performance of the opening concert of the festival on April 27;.
- free participation in master classes conducted by Emanuel Salvador, Vasek Vassilev, Konstantin Heidrich, Piotr Szumiel and Janusz Widzyk;
- free participation in all concerts and accompanying events as part of the Szczecin Classic;
- space for creative activities and meetings with the audience;
- honorarium / award for the chamber ensemble in the amount of PLN 10,000 gross;
- accommodation and rehearsal space;
- substantive and organizational support of residents.
