The Aurea Porta Friends of the Arts Foundation, which promotes Polish contemporary art, is continuously working on the expansion of the “Bogusław Schaeffer Works Repository”, contributing to the reintegration of the world-renowned works of this distinguished artist into the cultural circulation. In 2024, the project is being continued under the name “Digitization and Inventory of Materials from the Bogusław Schaeffer Archive – Part III”.
The progress and meticulous preparation of the materials is the work of the duo: Konrad Jeliński, a long-time collaborator of the Foundation, joined by the young composer Filip Gołdanowski (born 2008).
The project, which has been developing for over a decade and a half, includes the archiving of paper materials (scores, texts, graphics, manuscripts, and facsimiles) from the creator's private archive, as well as their digitization.
More than 5000 pages of compositions are planned for publication, along with the archiving of physical objects in the Foundation’s headquarters and the Theatre Institute. Additionally, digital representations of these materials will be made available: on the official website dedicated to Bogusław Schaeffer, on a special subpage with audiovisual materials, on YouTube (including in video score format), in the Polona digital library, and in Europeana.
A special app, "Schaeffer Non Stop", invites users to interact with the graphic score of Schaeffer's piece Non Stop.
As a result, the rich artistic legacy of this eminent Polish composer and dramatist, one of the most original creators of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, can now be performed globally.
Parallel documentation work is focused on gathering information about available audiovisual and library materials, as well as determining the availability of dispersed materials.
Partners of the project include: Legalna Kultura, AICT, eTeatr, Dziennik Teatralny, and ZAIKS.
The project "Digitization and Inventory of Materials from the Bogusław Schaeffer Archive – Part III" is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
