The Disharmony Foundation creates a space for new music in Wrocław. In 2026, the foundation is organizing a concert series dedicated to new music, showcasing the diverse capabilities of the accordion – ranging from intimate instrumental dialogues to contemporary explorations at the intersection of acoustic music and multimedia. The first concert, titled "Between the Poles", will take place on June 14, 2026, at 4.30 pm at the OP ENHEIM Gallery (4 Solny Sq). Free ticket reservation is required to attend the event.
The Foundation has been organizing concert series that blend sonic experimentation with chamber music tradition since 2025, creating a space where artists can connect with audiences interested in new phenomena within musical culture.
On June 14, Magdalena Bojanowicz-Koziak (cello) and Rafał Łuc (accordion) will present the program that centers on the meeting of two instruments with distinctly different traditions, which together create an incredibly rich and unconventional soundscape. The audience will hear Béla Bartók's high-spirited Romanian Folk Dances, Sofia Gubaidulina's deeply moving In Croce—one of the most significant works ever written for cello and accordion—as well as Saint-Saëns' subtle Prière and Satin by Aleksander Nowak, one of the most highly acclaimed contemporary Polish composers. The evening will culminate with Astor Piazzolla's Le Grand Tango, a composition that brings together virtuosity, sensuality, and the vibrant energy of Argentine tango.
In October, the OP ENHEIM Gallery will host a concert by an international duo: saxophonist Joaquin Saez Belmonte and accordionist Rafał Łuc. Their performance will feature works by Polish and Spanish composers, showcasing diverse directions in contemporary chamber music and the sound possibilities of both instruments.
The concerts are co-financed by the Municipality of Wrocław and the Society of Authors ZAiKS.
