On November 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the Opole Philharmonic will host a festive concert that will serve as a musical dialogue between the past and the present. The highlight of the event will be the premiere of the orchestral arrangement of Frédéric Chopin's études, performed by the Opole Philharmonic conducted by Michał Janocha, the project's author.
The concert will open with the spectacular Overture to the opera Andromeda by Józef Elsner, composed in honor of Napoleon and a patron of the Opole Philharmonic. Next, we will hear the Polish Suite by Szymon Laks, dedicated to the memory of Karol Szymanowski, which continues the style initiated by the creator of Harnasie.
The central point of the concert will be three études from Opus 10 by Chopin (E major No. 3, E-flat minor No. 6, and F minor No. 9), presented in a new orchestral arrangement by Michał Janocha that captures the beauty of Chopin's texture through a diverse palette of orchestral sounds.
Following this, we will move to the world of nature, which has inspired contemporary composers: the works Through the Night by Artur Kroschl and Mountains by Aleksander Lasoń.
