How to Start Improvising?
Just come to the free improvisation workshops organized by the Polish Society for Contemporary Music titled "Reading with Sound" for youth (ages 13+) and adults. The workshops for musicians and amateurs will take place in Warsaw on November 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Creative Activities Centre "Pogodna" (25 Jana Pawła II Street).
The workshops will be led by the creators of the project: composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński, double bassist Małgorzata Kołcz, and their musical guests.
Each participant—whether they have their own instrument or not—will receive a task tailored to their abilities and interests. In the first part of the workshop, participants will be divided into 4 groups, each working with one of the 4 instructors. The program will include activities such as "painting" sound portraits and landscapes, controlled aleatoricism, sonorism, and collective improvisation—relaxing and enjoyable!
The organizers ask participants to bring their favorite instruments, but additional instruments will also be provided.
The second part of the workshop will be “literary-musical”, led by an actor who will read a specially prepared short story in the form of a musical score. The participants will create a musical illustration of the story, both solo and in groups.
At the end of the workshop, around 1:00 p.m., there will be a short concert where everyone will perform together.
Participation in the workshop is free, but the number of seats is limited, so registration is required. This can be done in two ways:

The organizers kindly ask participants with special needs to inform them if any assistance is required to attend the workshop (phone: 790 395 228).
