International Composition Competition SAXandVILLAS 2025

Szczecin's cultural institution Villa Lentz and La Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando invite you to participate in the SAXandVILLAS 2025 International Composition Competition, which aims to enrich the musical literature of saxophone and chamber music. The competition is open to composers from all countries of the world. Composers up to the age of 35 are invited to participate, with the age limit determined by the closing date of the call for entries. The deadline for submissions is March 31.

The object is to create new compositions for the following instrumental compositions of your choice:

Trio composed of soprano, alto and baritone saxophone

Duo saxophone with piano (choice of soprano, alto, tenor, baritone)

Saxophone quartet (SATB).

All submitted compositions will be judged in one category without division into different compositions.

Each composer may submit one work for evaluation.

The awarded works will be premiered by renowned performers, and their authors will receive commemorative statuettes. The winner of the first prize will receive an invitation to the premiere of his work at a partner center of his choice.

Financial prizes are envisaged: for first place - 1,500 euros and 500 euros for second place.

The Jury will consist of Prof. Krzysztof Meyer (PL) - Chairman, Prof. Dariusz Samól (PL) - Artistic Director, Prof. Piet Swerts (BE), Dr. Marilyn Shrude, Distinguished Artist Professor (US), Dr. Francisco Martinez (ES).
