The Mieczysław Weinberg Institute invites you to the fourth "House Party at Mietek Weinberg's" – a celebration of the Warsaw tenement at 66 Żelazna Street, where the composer lived. On September 8, 2024, a concert will take place by the wall of the tenement, but two other interesting events are also scheduled for that day.
At 3:00 PM, a guided walk tracing the footsteps of Mietek Weinberg and his colleagues from the Warsaw Conservatory will depart from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, led by Monika Iwanicka (Jewish Historical Institute).
At 5:00 PM, a concert by the Weinberg Trio will take place at 66 Żelazna Street. The ensemble will perform not only Weinberg's works but also pieces by Eddy Tyrmand, Leo Abeliowicz, Henryk Wagner, Andrzej Panufnik, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
Following the short concert, at 6:00 PM in the Czary Cinema (Chłodna 31), the premiere of the website www.zelazna66.pl – the first Virtual Museum of the Tenement – will be held. The creators, Aleksandra Galant, Grzegorz Niemczyk, and Maria Sławek, will present it. A reception for guests will be provided by Kręgliccy Catering.
The "House Party at Mietek Weinberg's" is supported by the Warsaw Social Communication Center and ZAiKS.
The Virtual Museum of the Tenement was created with the support of the Monument Conservator's Office of the City of Warsaw.
