Juan de Dios Magdaleno won the Lutosławski Award 2008

The Jury of the International Competition for Composers “Lutosławski Award 2008”, consisting of Louis Andriessen (The Netherlands), Yi Chen (China/USA), Ivan Fedele (Italy), Yuki Morimoto (Japan/Austria) and Zygmunt Krauze - president (Poland), sitting in Warsaw at the Witold Lutosławski Society on 12th-14th December 2008, decided to grant the following awards:

1st prize: Juan de Dios Magdaleno (Mexico) for the composition Memento Mori for violin and piano
2nd prize: Satoshi Ohmae (Japan) for the composition Memories Once More for two pianos
3rd prize: Jimmie LeBlanc (Canada) for the composition The Breaking of the Circle for string quartet
