The 14th edition of the Polish music community's “Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej” Award has begun. Until September 19, 2024, nominations for the award can be submitted via the website www.koryfeusz.org.pl in the categories: “Personality of the Year”, “Event of the Year”, and “Honorary Award”, as well as in the “Discovery of the Year” category for debuting artists.
Submissions can be made by individuals connected to Polish musical life.
This award recognizes individuals, groups of artists, and institutions working in the field of Polish music, which spans various genres and historical periods. “Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej” honors creators, performers, musicologists, critics, journalists, humanists, researchers, animators, popularizers, and culture managers, as well as artist groups, artistic events, and various creative, educational, and animation projects. The award is given for achievements during the past artistic season, except for the honorary award, which is presented for lifetime achievement.
The winners in all categories are selected by the "Electoral college" during a secret vote, while the verdict in the “Discovery of the Year” category also includes a public vote. The Electoral college" consists of rectors of music academies, universities, directors of musicology and music institutes, music journalists, representatives of professional unions and organizations, as well as all previous laureates in all categories. Voting will take place from October 2 to 9. The public will be able to cast their votes on the website http://www.koryfeusz.org.pl.
The winners will be announced at a formal gala on November 4, 2024, at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The laureates will receive statuettes designed by Professor Adam Myjak.
