In September and October 2025, the Polish Society for Contemporary Music will host a series of music workshops and concerts dedicated to the youngest residents of the Kłodzko region. Children and their parents are warmly invited to the first family concert, titled “A Musical Journey to the Land of Imagination”, which will take place on 5 September at 5:00 PM at the Cultural Centre in Domaszków – a branch of the Municipal and Communal Cultural Centre in Międzylesie (ul. Kolejowa 3, Domaszków). Admission is free!
A year ago, the Kłodzko region was severely affected by flooding, which caused widespread destruction—not only damaging buildings but also disrupting the everyday lives of many local families. In response, Małgorzata Kołcz, a double bassist and music producer from Kłodzko, initiated a project aimed at supporting cultural education in the region. As part of this initiative, well-known musicians will lead music workshops for children aged 3–8 in preschools and primary schools, and organize a series of family concerts this autumn.
The first interactive concert (lasting approx. 50 minutes, recommended for children aged 5+) invites the audience to co-create a story with the storyteller, accompanied by live, improvised music:
“Every strange or wildly imaginative idea suggested by the children can become part of the story and be brought to life through music created live on stage. This music will highlight emotions and set the mood for the stories we create together. We promise plenty of improvisation – and what adventures await us, we’ll find out during the concert,”
says Małgorzata Kołcz.
Performers include:
– Rafał Grozdew (opera singer – tenor) as the storyteller
– Bartosz Smorągiewicz (saxophone, clarinet, exotic flutes)
– Małgorzata Kołcz (double bass)
– Jarosław Siwiński (synthesizer)
