"Musique est une Femme": Survey on Knowledge About Female Composers and Their Works

Musique_est_une_femmeThe project "Musique est une femme" of the TAK – Temat Aktualny Kultura Foundation, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, is coming to an end. To sum up the project, the organisers invites you to participate in a survey on the knowledge of women composers and their works, which will be available until 31 December 2021.

Talented women have composed many valuable musical works. Unfortunately, they were always performed much less frequently than the compositions of their colleagues and, as a consequence, they were often unjustly forgotten. The project "Musique est une femme" tried to deal with the consequences of this problem by organising, among others, a video contest. The coordinator of the project is musicologist Marlena Wieczorek, PhD.

The questionnaire on the knowledge about women composers and their works is anonymous. Ten randomly selected participants of the survey will receive CDs with premiere recordings of Isabella Leonarda's works performed by Capella Musicale del Duomo di Novara, with a dedication by the conductor of the ensemble Paola Monicelli.
