The "House of Light and Sound" Association invites you to the premiere concert "New Light, New Sounds," which will take place on October 9, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the theater hall of the Tadeusz Kantor Cricoteka Art Documentation Center in Cracow (2-4 Nadwiślańska Street). For the first time, we will hear pieces by Magdalena Długosz, Zofia Dowgiałło, Piotr Roemer, Janusz Krzysztof Korczak, and Michał Dorman. The performances will be set against a backdrop of light-based scenography. Admission is free!
Five creators, five new compositions, and five different perspectives on sound in a new light. This will be the first concert premiering the works of composers associated with the "House of Light and Sound." The new compositions are also connected by their instrumentation, which includes various types of flutes, harp, piano, and electronics, featuring both composed and interactive electroacoustic layers, as well as live sound processing.
The performers will include the composers themselves, as well as flutist Renata Guzik, who specializes in contemporary music.
After the concert, there will be an opportunity to talk with the composers and performers, with a chance to explore the instruments firsthand.
Free tickets can be picked up in person at Cricoteka starting September 17 (limited tickets available).
Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Composer Commissions" program, carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
