Piotr Janowski, a world famous violinist, the first Polish winner of the Henryk Wieniawski Competition, a distinguished scholar lecturing at many foreign universities, died on 6th December 2008 in London, aged 57. The funeral took place on 18th December 2008 at 11 am at the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw.
