The Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra invites you on September 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM to the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw for the concert inaugurating the 2025/2026 artistic season!
Under the baton of the orchestra's new director, Wojciech Rodek, two symphonic masterpieces by Tadeusz Baird and Franz Schubert will be performed.
The program will open with the striking Symphony No. 1 by Tadeusz Baird, dedicated to Jan Krenz – a five-movement neoclassical work, rich in expressive power and inspired by the music of Mahler and Shostakovich.
Next, the audience will hear Franz Schubert’s Symphony in C major, D. 944, one of the most beautiful works of early Romanticism. Composed in 1825 and known as the “Great” Symphony – a title originally meant to distinguish it from his Sixth Symphony in the same key, but later also interpreted as a tribute to the work’s brilliance. Premiered in 1839 at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig under Felix Mendelssohn, the symphony was praised for its romantic depth and extraordinary lyricism within a classical structure.
Financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
