The second edition of the "Sounds of Diversity" project, organized by the Creative Center Ostrava, is dedicated to the collaboration of young composers and choreographers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. The premieres of four recent works will take place on March 5 at 7:00 pm in the concert hall of the Faculty of Arts at the City Campus of Ostrava University and on March 6 at 7:00 pm in the concert hall of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
The "Sounds of Diversity" project symbolically breaks not only boundaries between countries, but also combines different artistic genres and explores new forms of expression. This year's novelty is the cooperation with Ostrava's MOVE Ostrava association, whose director Jana Ryšlavá will add choreography with elements of improvisation to the concert program. Piotr Ceglarek will be responsible for the lighting.
The Czech music scene is represented in the program by a piece by Ostrava-based artist Petra Šuško Sixth Sense. Polish music will be represented by Przemyslaw Scheller's Grande Valse Brillante. We will also hear Consonanze stravaganti e lumi danzanti by Slovak composer Matej Sloboda and The Zone by Hungarian Viktor Molnár.
The 16-member ensemble, which also includes musicians from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, will perform, under the direction of maestro Szymon Bywalec.
This year's theme is wellbeing - music, dance and light scenery together will create an atmosphere that will provide the audience with the space for contemplation that is so necessary in this day and age.
The "Sounds of Diversity" concert project is not only a cultural experience, but also a call for a new dialogue between artists, listeners and the public, promoting the work of young composers reflecting contemporary musical trends and the cultural heritage of their countries.
