During the concert by the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic conducted by Michał Klauza on October 25, 2024, at 7:00 PM, Polish music from a bygone era will meet with contemporary compositions. The first category will be represented by the works of Władysław Szpilman and Henryk Wars, whose music the conductor has long championed. The second category will feature a new violin concerto by Marcin Markowicz.
A special surprise for the audience will be the world premiere of Marcin Markowicz's Violin Concerto, composed at the request of the National Forum of Music in celebration of the Wrocław Philharmonic’s 80th anniversary. The piece was commissioned as part of the "Composers' Commissions" program, supported by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
In addition to the violin solo, the concert will also feature trumpeter Franciszek Kaczyński and pianist Michał Michalski as soloists. Their performance is part of the “NFM Promotes” program, which supports young artists from Lower Silesia. The program is part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the National Forum of Music.
