Professors of Musical Arts – violist Katarzyna Budnik and pianist Grzegorz Mania – will perform in the Lublin Voivodeship from June 5 to 7, 2025, as part of the National Institute of Music and Dance's project “With Classics Through Poland.”
Concerts will take place at the Tomaszów Cultural Centre, the Karol Komeda Primary Music School in Lubaczów, and the Municipal Centre of Culture, Sport, and Recreation in Niedrzwica Duża.
Katarzyna Budnik heads the viola class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (UMFC) and has been principal violist of the Sinfonia Varsovia since 2014.
Grzegorz Mania teaches at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and the Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Warsaw. He is President of the Polish Chamber Musicians’ Association and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Notatnik pianistyczny.
Together, Budnik and Mania have recorded albums featuring sonatas by Mieczysław Weinberg and Dmitri Shostakovich, sonatas and fantasies by Rebecca Clarke, Władysław Gawroński, Philipp Scharwenka, and Zygmunt Stojowski, as well as a monographic album of works by Szymon Laks.
During the upcoming concerts, these distinguished Polish artists and educators will perform Fantasy by Zygmunt Stojowski, Melody by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Berceuse by Władysław Żeleński, and compositions by Rebecca Clarke, Ludwik Philipp Scharwenka, and Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
