From October 18 to 20, 2025, at Bar Studio in Warsaw (Plac Defilad 1), Chopin's music will be translated into Polish Sign Language! This translation is commissioned by the Kwadrofonik Association and is unique—nowhere else in Poland will the Chopin Competition finals be available in Polish Sign Language!
"Nanodźwięki" is an original music education program led by Emilia Karolina Sitarz—a contemporary music pianist, music curator, and award-winning artist, including "Fryderyk" awards, the "Polityka" Passport, and the "Koryfeusz" award. The program, aimed at individuals with disabilities, includes concerts with lectures, educational workshops, individual sessions, and joint viewing of the Chopin Competition finals. All events are open to the public, with priority given to individuals with disabilities.
Participants will watch the Chopin Competition finals on a large screen—similar to watching the finals of sports championships, but with Chopin's music as the star. Each participant chooses their preferred way of listening: pure sound or music with commentary by Emilia Karolina Sitarz—full of passion, lightness, and humor.
"You will be able to cheer, enjoy the emotions, and discuss impressions with others—in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, in the heart of Warsaw," invites Emilia Karolina Sitarz. "This year, special emphasis is placed on full accessibility—both in terms of space and the way music is received."
"Nanodźwięki" will adapt the broadcast of the competition finals to the needs of participants, offering not only joint listening to young virtuosos from around the world but also a special reception of the finals for the Deaf community. By combining two conventions—the energetic, casual style of sports broadcasts and the focused nature of competition auditions—the organizers aim to convey the emotions associated with experiencing music.
The project is implemented by the Kwadrofonik Association in collaboration with Bar Studio and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
