Information about the event | Katowice | 17 October 2025
Bartłomiej Nizioł – winner of the First Prize at the International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition and numerous prestigious awards, soloist, and concertmaster of the Zurich Opera Orchestra – will give the world premiere of Sebastian Perłowski’s Concertino together with the Silesian Chamber Orchestra on October 17, 2025, at 7:00 PM, under the baton of the composer himself.
Composed especially for Bartłomiej Nizioł, Sebastian Perłowski’s Concertino for solo violin and string orchestra draws from both classical tradition and contemporary music. The work was commissioned as part of the “Composers’ Commissions” program run by the Polish National Institute of Music and Dance.
Also featured in the soloist’s interpretation will be the rarely performed but highly virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 3 by Feliks Janiewicz, one of the most gifted Polish violinists and composers of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
The program will also include two contrasting takes on the divertimento formEine kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Divertimento by Béla Bartók.
