3rd International Student Conference in the series “Musical Laboratory: Research – Creation – Interpretation”
3rd International Student Conference in the series “Musical Laboratory: Research – Creation – Interpretation” organized by the SPEKTRUM Artistic and Research Student Society and by students of the Faculty of Composition, Music Theory and Sound Direction at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. The conference will take place on 7–8 May 2026, at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Participation in the conference is free of charge. Submission deadline: 31 March 2026.
The conference offers an opportunity to establish new international connections among students from diverse programs and specializations within Academies of Music, Academies of Fine Arts, and humanities departments. Its objective is to foster an interactive environment conducive to sharing experiences and to the constructive presentation and discussion of various aspects of music research, reflections on musical creation, and experiences related to musical performance.
This year, the Conference will consist of two modules. On the first day, a workshop will be held during which participants will have the opportunity to create a musical work. This will involve collaborative creative work with students of AMFN and invited guests, including special guests—students from the branch campus of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, affiliated with the Music for Film Research Group at that institution, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Joanna Cieślik-Klauza, habilitated doctor.
On the second day, we invite you to attend the second module, during which participants will be able to present original papers and take part in panel discussions. The thematic scope of the Conference embraces diverse approaches to scholarly research, artistic creation, and the interpretation of music and new media, as well as innovative teaching methods and the development of technology in the arts. We encourage participants to prepare presentations grounded in rigorous scholarly foundations, which will serve as a stimulus for constructive discussion.
Applications for active participation in the conference are open to students and graduates of music-related programs. Active participation in both modules is possible. Paper presentations may address any topic; however, we encourage speakers to choose subjects that will engage listeners from different disciplines. Presentations and all multimedia materials may be prepared in English.
The length of each presentation should not exceed 20 minutes.
The organizers do not cover travel expenses.
